No-Fault/PIP Services

No-Fault or Personal Injury Protection (Personal Insurance Protection) (PIP) serves as an extension of car insurance covering medical expenses and in many cases, lost wages. This is also called No-Fault coverage because its inherent comprehensiveness pays out claims regardless of who is at fault. If you are in an accident, PIP covers you, your family and any passengers in the car. PIP pays for covered medical and hospital expenses and may pay for any lost wages as well as expenses for childcare and household services during your recovery. In unfortunate and dreaded situations, PIP may also pay for funeral expenses. Some states have mandated that PIP is added onto your existing auto insurance. (New York and New Jersey have No-Fault Auto Insurance laws).

IRC handles both sides of these cases and even though the insurance will pay regardless of who is at fault, there could also be an outside lawsuit that needs to be settled. Under the current No-Fault laws, motorists can, in fact, sue for severe injuries as well as pain and suffering caused by an accident. However, certain conditions must be met first. These conditions, also known as a threshold, relate to the severity of the injury(s). This may be expressed in verbal terms or in dollar amounts of medical bills. Some laws may also include minimum requirements for the days of disability incurred as a result of said accident.
